Troy Prep Elementary School
Prior to joining Troy Prep Elementary, Ms. DeLuke served as a 3rd grade teacher at Leadership Prep Bedford Stuyvesant, an Uncommon School in Brooklyn. She came to LPBS after being accepted to the New York Corps of Teach for America. Prior to joining Uncommon Schools, Sam worked as the Director of Restaurant Openings for the Uno Restaurant Corporation where she traveled the world training staff and opening new restaurants. She received her B.A. in Broadcast Communication and Theater from SUNY Oswego and received her Master's in Education from the Teacher U Program at Hunger College.
Director of Operations
Prior to joining the Operations Team at Troy Prep Elementary, Jon served as the 6th grade writing teacher at Troy Prep Middle School. He came to Troy Prep from Las Vegas, Nevada, where he taught 5th grade as a Teach For America Corps Member. Before joining Uncommon Schools, Jon worked as a Program Director with Teach For America – Las Vegas Valley. He received his B.A. in History from Union College and his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Troy Prep Middle School
Prior to coming to Uncommon Schools, Lauren Catlett spent several years working as a college access and success counselor and program director at Bottom Line, a Boston-based non-profit organization that provides first-generation high school and college students with individualized college counseling to help them get into and graduate from college and succeed as professionals. During her time as program director, the college persistence rate of the program’s 500+ students was 76%, more than four times the national average for first-generation college students. As a founding teacher at Troy Prep, Lauren taught fifth, seventh, and eighth grade ELA and fifth grade history, chaired the writing department, and coached teachers as a member of the school’s instructional leadership team. Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing from Gettysburg College and her principal certificate from Relay Graduate School of Education.
Director of Operations
Born and raised in Albany, NY, Mrs. Daley started her education career in 2010 as a Las Vegas, NV Teach for America corps member. She taught middle school science and served as the science department co-chair. Transitioning back to her home town in 2013, Mrs. Daley spent the last four years teaching high school Chemistry, Biology, and Advanced Placement Biology at The Albany Academies. She also served as the director of the Leaps & Bounds Adventure Camp Program, as the lead coach of the middle school robotics team, and as the Key Club faculty advisor. Mrs. Daley is thrilled to be a new member of the Troy Prep community and looks forward to continuing the success and growth of Troy Prep Middle School as the Director of Operations.
Troy Prep High School
Maisie Wright joined Troy Prep High School last year as our instructional fellow. Prior to joining Troy Prep, she served as the founding principal for a KIPP middle school and high school in Blytheville, Arkansas. This year she will serve as the Principal for Troy Prep High School. She is excited to build on last year’s foundation to construct one of the best high schools in our nation.
Katie Yezzi is the Assistant Superintendent for Uncommon Troy. She was born and raised in the Capital District, and returned in 2006 having worked for 12 years in public middle and high schools in Northern and Southern California. She taught for 8 years and served as English department head, school-wide reform coordinator, and subsequently Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Principal in district and charter high schools in San Francisco. Ms. Yezzi is a graduate of New Leaders, a nationally acclaimed program dedicated to training effective urban school principals. Prior to becoming Senior Principal, Ms. Yezzi joined Uncommon Schools in 2008, first as a member of the Teach Like a Champion Team, and in 2011 became the Founding Principal for Troy Preparatory Charter Elementary School. She is the co-author, with Doug Lemov and Erica Woolway of Practice Perfect: 42 Rules for Getting Better at Getting Better. Ms. Yezzi earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in American Civilization and her Master of Arts in Teaching English from Brown University.
Director of Operations
Prior to joining the Operations Team at Troy Prep High School, Kaleah supported school districts across the nation as a Site Manager with The New Teacher’s Project. Kaleah came to Troy Prep from Atlanta, Georgia where she supported districts in designing and executing effective human capital strategies. She holds a Master in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Chemistry from Agnes Scott College.
